The Democratic Party of Baxter County invites you to Dirt Road Democracy on October 26th at The Back 40 Restaurant in Mountain Home, Arkansas. This event is all about bringing the community together in a laid-back, grassroots atmosphere. From 6 PM to 10 PM, you’ll have the chance to connect with local candidates, enjoy great food and drinks, and listen to live music.
6 PM to 7 PM: The Baxter County Democratic Party’s official meeting will take place in the Gravel Room. (Committee meeting free to attend)
7 PM to 8 PM: A candidate meet-and-greet will be held in the front room of the restaurant. Mingle with candidates:
Rodney Govens, running for the 1st Congressional District
Derek Huber for JP District 7
Donnie Huffine for JP District 3
Johnny Rickman for JP District 2
The meet and greet is free to attend, your ticket gets you access to the gravel room, keynote speakers, and live music.
8 PM to 10 PM: Steve Grappe and the JP candidates will deliver speeches, followed by Rodney Govens with the keynote address to close the night. Enjoy live entertainment featuring the Mellow Mountain Band and Zach Estes in the Gravel Room.
About the Candidates:
Rodney Govens, closing keynote speaker, is running for Arkansas’ 1st Congressional District, advocating for improved healthcare, economic fairness, and education).
Derek Huber (District 7), Donnie Huffine (District 3), and Johnny Rickman (District 2) are running for Justice of the Peace, each committed to representing their districts with transparency and dedication.
Steve Grappe, speaker and advocate for rural Arkansas, will share his vision for addressing the unique challenges facing rural communities.
