DPBC Scholarships Awarded

Caleb Perdue, Mike Breton, Joshua Dickinson

On Tuesday, May 13 the Democratic Party Of Baxter County awarded two $500 scholarships to two Mountain Home graduating seniors. Caleb Perdue (left) has been accepted into the Honors Program at the Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas. He plans to follow that up with law school. The second recipient was Joshua Dickinson who also will be attending U of A. His will be majoring in Mechanical Engineering with subsequent plans in Agriculture Business. It’s noteworthy that both young men are looking beyond their undergraduate fields.

The Board had approved $500 for our scholarship but as you can see that amount was doubled. The extra scholarship was made possible by a member donating that $500 to the Mountain Home Educational Foundation, but stipulated that it be in our name. We are grateful to that member and encourage others to donate to a cause you support in our name. Beyond personal tax benefits, such generosity helps spread the goodwill of the DPBC. The auditorium full of parents, teachers, and students all heard of our scholarships and perhaps will want to be part of our efforts. They at least know that we exist and are working to help our community. We are grateful that all this was made possible through the cooperation and facilitation of Mollie Morgan of the MHEF.
